France Passion makes your life easier! Simply find the answers to the most frequently asked questions about our operations and the world of camping enthusiasts in just a few clicks !
You have no obligation to make a purchase, as free private hosting does not require any commercial consideration. You are free to discover and buy the products on offer, which are the result of passionate, authentic, high-quality know-how.
By buying from your hosts during your stays, you are contributing at the same time to: 1- developing short supply chains (directly from producers) 2- reducing the transport of these products, which you will have bought locally 3- promoting authentic products 4- improving the remuneration of farmers, livestock breeders, winegrowers, etc. 5- fostering dialogue between producers (who have often become invisible in towns) and us, the consumers! By choosing short supply chains, you directly support our hosts and thank them for their welcome.
Not liking a particular specialty does not prevent you from stopping over or from enjoying a friendly moment with your host. It is also possible to place an order later, remotely...
In the Guide and on the app, you will find the GPS coordinates in decimal format for each stopover. It is important not to follow your GPS blindly and to check that it matches the directions in the Guide, as access routes may change from year to year.
On your GPS, use the "navigate to" or "search for coordinates" (latitude/longitude) function. Depending on the model, you may need to use "+" instead of N and E, and "-" for west longitude.
On the mobile app, the "Routes" (Itinéraire) button at the bottom of the host's profile allows you to directly open the GPS application of your choice.
The GPS coordinates of hosts are personal and confidential data: they must not be disseminated, shared or compiled, in accordance with the France Passion spirit, which is based on confidentiality, conviviality and safety.
No, it is not possible to reserve a stopover. France Passion prioritises the discovery of the rural world and authentic experiences, without imposing booking management on hosts, who are already very busy with their businesses.
Telephone contact, when desired, is only used to confirm your arrival, never to make a reservation. This information is specified in the Guide.
The numbers provided are mainly to facilitate access to the stopover or to contact the host again if necessary (tips, forgotten items, thank yous, etc.).
Farmers and winegrowers are not tourism professionals: they are hosting you out of kindness, on top of their long and demanding working days.
No, you are welcome to stay on private property free of charge for a maximum of 24 hours.
If you wish to stay longer, you must ask the host for prior permission. They are free to charge for the stopover site or not, as this is no longer part of the France Passion package :)
Each dot indicates a municipality where you will find at least one France Passion host. The different colours are used to clearly differentiate between the different French regions (départements).
Your membership of France Passion supports a network that has been constructed with great care and dedication over 30 years. It helps to finance the selection of hosts, the creation, printing and distribution of the Stopover Guide, and a guaranteed list of reliable, up-to-date and regularly visited stopovers.
The current Guide enables you to comply with the hosts' instructions (days when closed, arrival times, etc.), with each host undertaking to welcome you during the membership period. All France Passion hosts are entitled to refuse users who are not up to date with their membership.
By using an up-to-date Guide, you also help to maintain the peace of mind of operators who no longer wish to receive guests, for personal or professional reasons.
Thank you for your respect and understanding.
The vast majority of stopovers are accessible all year round, throughout France. However, some may be closed at certain times of the year (grape harvest, wheat harvest, etc.). This information is provided and updated on the different stopover pages on the website and in the app.
Hosts may also specify arrival times, depending on their professional and family commitments.
Yes!
The European Federation of Invitation Formulas (FEFI in the French acronym) brings together 10 European networks that are implementing the France Passion Invitations Formula in their respective countries. France Passion, which came up with the concept in 1993, provides the most authentic way to visit a country in a motorhome.
We decided to connect similar networks in order to share our respective experiences and work in partnership with our colleagues in Germany, Great Britain, Spain, Switzerland, Denmark, Ireland, Sweden, Austria, Norway and Italy

In most cases, dogs are allowed. Pictograms are used to indicate stopovers with restrictions (i.e., dogs are not allowed or must be kept on a leash). As a precaution, remember to ask for confirmation before letting your dog out, especially if there are young children or other animals on the farm.
Our network is strictly reserved for fully self-sufficient motorhomes (toilet, wastewater, electricity, etc.). The number of caravans travelling in Europe makes it impossible to accommodate them on the farms and estates which are part of the France Passion network, which are sometimes inaccessible to caravans. In addition, the France Passion Invitations formula offers stopovers of a maximum of 24 hours, which are not suitable for this type of travel.
On our partner's website www.bienvenue-a-la-ferme.com you will find all the farm campsites that can accommodate caravans.
The France Passion Guide (with its guest card and sticker) and access to the app or member area are linked to a motorhome user, not a vehicle.
Access is only possible with your email address and password.
People renting your vehicle who wish to use our app or the member area on france-passion.com must join our network directly.
They will enjoy unlimited access to more than 2,000 free stopovers throughout France for the price of 1 or 2 nights at a campsite ;)
*Stopovers are reserved for motorhomes, campervans and converted vans that are 100% self-sufficient in terms of water, toilet facilities, electricity, etc.
Your France Passion account allows you to plan your trips online and use the mobile app by logging in using the same details!
Complementing the Guide, the app makes it easy to find your chosen stopover and access all the information about the stopover sites for the year, as well as favourites, photos and community reviews.
It provides real-time updates on stopovers (additional information, closures due to special circumstances, new stopovers during the year, etc.).

Our stopovers are strictly reserved for motorhomes, panel vans and vans that are 100% self-contained in terms of water, electricity, waste, toilet and shower inside the vehicle.
France Passion stopovers offer you free parking for 24 hours on private properties; they are not campsites or service areas. The toilets indicated in the guide are often in the shop or the cellar; this is an emergency service, so don’t count on it for the whole family... And it is absolutely forbidden to go between the vines for your natural needs (several hosts have unfortunately reported this).
