"Another reason FRANCE is such a popular country for RVing, and a more romantic alternative to Aires? France Passion is a network of winegrowers and farmers who let RVs park for free on their lands "
"France Passion is great for off-the-beaten-track rural stops! I mentioned this as one of the best (and easiest) ways to find wild camping spots in France, and it really is. France Passion is HUGE, covering 10,000 (!!!) free rural stops at private wineries and farms all across France. Stops are typically just overnight, and the normal etiquette is that you buy something from your host (so technically, the stop isn’t really “free”), but if you want to get off-the-beaten-track and enjoy some gourmet stops along the way, then this membership is for you."
"We first joined France Passion when we hired a motorhome and travelled through France three years ago, and were so impressed with the scheme, we decided to do it again this year. Once signed up (about AU$50/£27) there are no further costs. The scheme is made up of a range of farms, vineyards, olive groves, castles, mansions and other businesses with some space for self contained motorhomes and a desire to share their wares or services with visitors. For us, its a great opportunity to get off the beaten track and see some areas we would probably neither find nor hear about on our own."
"We had the most wonderful 3 weeks visiting vineyards, truffle farms, a pig park, fruit farms, oyster and mussel producers and a snail farm. At every one we were treated to a beautiful parking spot, idyllic settings fabulous produce and a great welcome. Our French language skills were stretched as were our legs, on our walks and bike rides of exploration from the spots at which we stayed and wished we could remain. The money we saved on camp fees we delightfully spent on produce from our hosts, thank you to them all!
We discovered areas of France that we would never have visited without this guide, so "Bon Voyage" and we can't wait to go back in July for our next adventure..."
"We want to thank the many hosts we met while we owned our motorhome and ventured across the Channel. You were all superb ambassadors for your country, and we have indelible memories of your generosity, kindness and willingness to share what you take for granted, but for us have been among the most treasured experiences of our lives. Unfortunately, no more motorhome now, but we kept a diary of all the places we ever visited, and so we can revisit whenever we want.
Vive France Passion!"
