Responsible motorhome travel: Adopting the “Leave No Trace” philosophy

09/09/2026

“Vanlife” is attracting more and more travelers in search of nature and freedom. In response to this growing enthusiasm, adopting eco-responsible behavior has become essential. The France Passion network is fully committed to this sustainable tourism approach.

Total self-sufficiency: the golden rule for protecting the environment

To park among the vineyards or in a farmyard, one condition is strict: being 100% self-sufficient.

  • Water and electricity: Hosts do not provide electrical hook-ups or water points (except in rare cases). This teaches you to manage your resources sparingly.

  • Waste management: You must have your own sanitation facilities and leave absolutely no trace of your stay (no dumping of grey or black water at the host’s site, and you take your trash with you).

The positive ecological impact of local travel

Traveling with France Passion also means choosing ecotourism and very short supply chains.

  • Reducing your food carbon footprint: By buying directly from the producer, you eliminate intermediaries and the transport of goods.

  • Awareness: Talking with farmers helps you better understand the challenges of working the land, organic farming, and preserving local biodiversity.

Reminder of the Charter: Introducing yourself on arrival (before nightfall), saying goodbye when you leave, and leaving the spot as clean as when you arrived are the cornerstones of respectful travel that ensures the long-term future of the network.
